Sarah Beament has been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary candidate for Wythenshawe and Sale East. Upon her selection, Sarah commented, "It’s official! I am delighted to be the Conservative parliamentary candidate for Wythenshawe and Sale East. I can’t wait to get to work."
Sarah grew up in a family of committed volunteers and small business owners. Their example of the impact that individuals can have on their local community inspired her to go into politics. The Conservative values of hard work, public service and the importance of family were instilled in her from an early age.
In 2014, in memory of her brother, Sarah set up a charity called Ali’s Gift, to support teenagers and young adults living with Cystic Fibrosis. It is a small charity that helps CF sufferers to live a life less limited by their disease by providing funding for one off costs such as re-training, lifestyle adaptions or once in a lifetime experiences.
Since 2010, Sarah has worked for several leading global financial services companies. Most recently as head of Energy Transition, a role in which she works with companies such as renewables developers or waste recycling start-ups to help them grow by raising capital from investors. What that means is, Sarah understands what businesses need to do to attract international investment and the role of government in promoting that investment. She is also an energy sector specialist with expertise in the sector that will dominate policy discussions for many decades to come.
Sarah joined the Conservative party because she was tired of her area being run poorly by a Labour MP and councillors. It has made her a committed and dedicated campaigner and a strong advocate for pragmatic Conservative government.
